Island Park Trip

We had a wonderful time on our couples trip to Island Park. Janan didn't almost get to go because the Sunday before she came down with the flu. Fortuantly, I was feeling better before the trip. We were able to go with three other couples for a few days up to fun cabin. Our friends Dad owns a beautiful cabin in a wonderful location. We left on Thursday mid afternoon and arrived in Island Park at around 4:00. We unpacked and then waited for the other couple coming that night. We went and grabbed a Subway sandwich and then stayed up talking and watching movies. It was a fun late night.

The next morning we got all dressed in our warm clothes and went to play outside. We hooked sleds to the back of our friends snowmobile and went sledding. We then went to a hill to go sledding down. We headed back and had lunch and then just enjoyed watching movies. We headed to West Yellowstone for a movie at the Imax Theater and fun dinner out. It was enjoyable to visit with friends and learn more about them.

Us with the snowmobiles

The next day was our big snowmobiling trip. We left at around 9 in the morning and didn't get back until 5. We went a total of 106 miles that day. We first headed to a fun place called Mesa Falls. When we arrived there we noticed Scotts backpack was gone. We found it hooked to the side of his snowmobile. It was scary because it had been eaten in the tracks of his snowmobile. We are lucky it wasn't bad and that it didn't ruin the snowmobile. We were also lucky that a stop before that Scott decided to have me put the camera in my snowmobile so he took it out of the bag and if he hadn't we would have no more camera.

The infamous backpack.

If you look carefully at the Mesa Falls pictures you will see that the area we had to walk in wasn't really safe. Its a rail that protects you from the falling. Well in the winter that rail protects you by about 5 inches. So we didn't get that close to the falls.

The Hot springs

We were able to go to different areas. When the Grange Family went to Island Park two years ago we went down the road to this hot springs. There were Huge fish, ducks and geese that hung out that you could feed. There was this little cabin. Well here is the same area but in the winter.

Another hot springs stop

After our busy day of snowmobiling we had a great dinner of white chili, cornbread, salad and a chocolate fondue fountain for dessert. YUMMY!!!! We ate so good up there and just enjoyed all the company. That night we played games and had a fun time watching people play "Hillarium".
We got up on Sunday morning and the husbands made us breakfast. We had homemade biscuits and gravy, bacon, juice, and eggs. It was sure yummy!!!! Thanks Guys!!!

We then had to pack and get ready to go. Always the saddest part of the trip. But I was missing the kids and we did have a blast.

Us hanging out at the cabin

We sure had a great time and want to thank our friends for the invite and the fun we had. Can't wait until next year!!!!

Another year older

Well friends and family- that's right. I am officially another year older. I had a wonderful birthday celebration. It started on Sunday with my Dad's wonderful Sukiyaki. YUMMM!!! It is a wonderful meal that we only get on special occasions. We were able to spend the time with my family and it was a fun evening. My sister in law Heather made me the cutest sign and gave me a fun cookbook from her ward. I love cookbooks and the sign will go perfect in my home. Thanks Heather and Chas.
For my birthday my parents gave me tickets to Hale Center theater to see a play. We went it saw it last weekend and they were the babysitters. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Scott gave me a bag that had 3 enveloped in it. IT said I had to choose one of the envelopes but that I got to pick my present this year.

My three choices were:

#1- A new computer and monitor (Not too bad huh?)
#2- A new Treadmill (I have wanted one this winter)
#3- A piano

Me looking at the envelopes

Well after considering all my options I came up with a few things. Our computer is still working okay so that was the first to be axed. Then it was between the Treadmill and the Piano. I REALLY want both. But as it is getting lighter outside in the morning and the fact that I love running outside in the early morning when its summer-I decided I want a piano. I hope that maybe if I am extra good I can have a Treadmill for Christmas. Santa are you listening?

Yummy Birthday cake from COLDSTONE!!!

The Kids and I getting ready for the cake.

I then got some much needed essentials from my in-laws and am grateful for those. So I had a wonderful day. Scott and the kids made me breakfast in bed. Then Scott grilled Steaks and we had asparagus, red potatoes, and yummy salad. It was DELISH!!!

What a fun birthday. So now to the fun of Valentines' Day tomorrow.

Brielle Turned 1

Well My baby turned one!!! I can't believe a whole year has past. She is growing up so fast and we can't believe how it just seems like yesterday that she was born. Oh, she has sure been a huge blessing in our lives. I remember how hard it was to get her here and how grateful that she has blessed our lives this past year. Her birthday was on the ninth. We had celebrated it the 7th with Scott's family. I made her a cute Horse cake and she thought it was yummy. She then had a fun time opening presents. On her real birthday she got her presents from my parents and sister. My parents came down and visited and we had a yummy dinner and yummy cake and icecream. She sure had a great day.

I will send pictures out tomorrow or later today.

Christmas for the rest of us

The kiddos in their CUTE MATCHING Pajamas. I know I only have a few years left (okay maybe not even one) until the kids won't let me match them. But they still thought it was okay this year. I love them in their matching pajamas.

The kids on Christmas morning got a new playground from mom and dad. We will put it up this next spring. It will be so much fun to have it in our huge backyard. Here the kids are seeing
the big black bag. Because it was so huge we had to leave it in the boxes. This black bag just had the slide in it.

Christmas Eve with their cousins. Here they are getting ready to open them up

Scott and Ashlyn doing their Christmas Eve duet. Ashlyn played the piano while Scott played the guitar. The rest of us sang.

Brielle's FIRST christmas

Brielle sure enjoyed her first Christmas. She loved, I mean loved the Christmas tree and lights. She loved taking the ornaments off hourly. I just made sure they weren't breakable. Here is our sweet WALKING girl on Christmas.
